How will you learn?

When you come to stay with us, we will discover together WHAT it is that you want to learn, and HOW you want to learn it.
Sitting at a desk and learning via books is only one of many ways...

For 15 hours per week, you will have our full attention for your individual learning process, and you can choose how formal or informal you would like it to be. Above all we hope that you will have fun with us.

The formal programme:
We will assess the level of your English when you arrive. You can either take a short written test, or we will just have a chat with you. Together, we can then design a series of lessons.

You will have 15 hours of lessons per week: to include conversation, comprehension, reading and writing. We will choose a course book with you, and various support materials. On the weekends, there will be no formal lessons, and instead we will take you on a trip into the surrounding countryside or go sightseeing, if you prefer.

The informal approach:
Alternatively, Frank and I are very happy to completely design the course to your specifications. For example, if you would prefer to learn in real life situations rather than from books, we will include you in our daily activities while teaching you English: we can cook, shop, go for walks etc. and learn English like this.

We live in two places, Totnes (Devon) and Cardiff (Wales). Both of them have their unique points of historic and cultural interest. Both of them are in a beautiful part of the UK.

When you come to stay with us, you can choose how much time you would like to spend in which place.
